ADB'S cooperation with Vietnam and Mekong river commission
HANOI -- Asian Development Bank to Provide Viet Nam USD 220 Million in 2000
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) this year will finance Viet Nam's five projects with a combined capital of USD 220 million, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
ADB also plans to grant USD 7.3 million in technical assistance to nine other projects in Viet Nam, which are involved in water sources management, poverty reduction in the central region, Kunming (China)-Hai Phong (Viet Nam) Telecommunication, Overall Plan for Secondary Education Development in 2001-2010, and Human Resources Development.
It will also grant USD 80 million to the "Hydro Electric Power Plant Se San 3" in the central highlands province of Kon Tum.
+ ADB Enhances Cooperation with Mekong River Commission
The Asian Development Bank and the Mekong River Commission (MCR) on March 8 signed an agreement on Mekong Sub-region development projects in Phnompenh, Cambodia.
The agreement will increase cooperation between the ADB and Mekong sub-region countries, particularly in information exchanges, technical training and communication development.
The ADB will discuss in detail with the MCR for the implementation of that agreement in a near future.
